A downloadable game

This is a hobby project of mine. If finished, it will be a relatively easy-to-play, text-rich dungeon crawling and exploration-centered game. Here's the rough breakdown of what you will be able to do:

  1. Create a unique fantasy adventurer, defined by a number or Archetypes. Archetypes represent areas of expertise, talent and reputation - you can be known as a Slayer, a Sage, a Scoundrel, a Minstrel, a Wanderer and many other things, none of which are mutually exclusive. Archetypes substitute the traditional class approach, and are leveled by performing related activities
  2. Customize your playstyle with perks and abilities tied to your character's Archetypes
  3. Learn languages and pieces of procedurally generated lore
  4. Explore fully randomized, immersive worlds with vast plains, snow-swept mountains, dark forests and treacherous swamps
  5. Delve dungeons and caves, fight monsters, reap the well-earned rewards
  6. Discover legendary artifacts and unique items with awesome powers
  7. Let your imagination take you places. The soulless machine will describe the world around you in greatest detail, lovingly crafting the narrative as it comes up with flavorful descriptions for every item you find. Yes, even that +0 dagger you will sell for a mug of ale at the nearest tavern ;)
  8. Find your own solutions to the problems you face. Avoid your enemies through stealth, backstab them, turn invisible, scare them away, burn them to a crisp or put them to the sword - anything gets the job done, if done right
  9. Socialize in taverns and royal halls, take various quests, earn reputation and shape the perception of your character. Minstrels, monster slayers, healers, explorers, thieves and bandits are all treated differently

The game is currently in the earliest stages of development; I decided it would be fun to blog about the process as I trudge along.
